Frame structures with exterior verandahs, which are mostly built in densely populated areas such as teaching buildings and dormitories southern China, a special form of frame structure that must continue to be developed. However, compared other many post-earthquake fields, this type building designed following the Chinese code has demonstrated poor seismic performance, leading significant number casualties property losses. Therefore, complement design requirements structural present code, performance needs improved optimized. A typical double-span RC an verandah Lushan Earthquake prototype was selected paper. PKPM software is used obtain information for prototype, finite element model established by utilizing ABAQUS simulation analysis. series various optimal conditions created at base prototype’s results, thorough investigation under each condition performed. Eventually, suggestions proposals future codes concerning structurally optimum provided.
